Lucifer and Supernatural are two shows that have ended, but they still remain as popular as ever. Both the shows have built a tremendous fan community ever since they started airing. It was due to its fanbase that Supernatural has managed to last for 15 years and it were the fans who saved Lucifer and gave it a new life through their online revolution. Both the show share numerous similarities in terms of its storytelling and characters. Some characters are even same in terms of their backstory, powers & abilities, but the character’s portrayal is different. Lucifer has featured numerous nods and references to Supernatural. Whereas Supernatural was the first to mention Lucifer in its Season 11 Episode 10 where SPN’s Lucifer makes a reference to WB’s Lucifer.

Tricia Helfer is best known for her work in Battlestar Galactica, Ascension, and various other projects. While the fans of Lucifer will forever know her as Charlotte Richards/Goddess who joined the cast of the show in Season 2. Lucifer’s mom who has been trapped in the underworld for eons, but she escaped hell and came to Earth, reuniting with her children. The Goddess would move to an alternate Universe where she’ll create her own world leaving behind the body of Charlotte Richards back who starts living a righteous life since then. Did you know Tricia Helfer appeared in Supernatural Season 2 episode ‘Roadkill’. Tricia played a character named Molly McNamara who was unaware about her demise and would reappear every year on a haunted highway looking for her husband.


Rob Benedict is best known for his role of CHUCK Aka God in the Supernatural. He first appeared in the season 3 where the fans believed him to be a Prophet, but in Season 5 finale, we learned that he is in fact the omnipotent God who turned out to be the major antagonist of the show. Interestingly, SPN isn’t the show where he played a villain. In Lucifer Season 6, he was cast in the role of Vincent Le Mec, a Mercenary who was tasked with finding the Flaming Sword key by Michael, he ended up harming Dan Espinoza in the process. He would then abduct Aurora Morningstar, bringing Lucifer to his knees. His soul ends up in hell where Lucifer takes him under his therapy, helps him and the others in healing and dealing with their guilt.


One of the biggest career roles of Aimee Garcia is as Ella Lopez in the show Lucifer. Aimee plays a bubbly, humorous, lively forensic scientist named Ella Lopez who joins LAPD in Season 2. She plays a major role in assisting Chloe & Lucifer with the clues and evidences using her scientific expertise. For majority of the show, Ella is kept out of the loop about the true nature of the celestials, but she discovers it on its own, and eventually accepts his friends. Even though she was disappointed and hurt, but Lucifer makes amends with her. Aimee Garcia has made a one-time appearance in Supernatural also. She played the character of Nancy Fitzgerald in Season 3 episode ‘Jus In Bello’. Nancy worked as a Secretary at the Sheriff’s Office and is caught in the chaos when the demons attack the precinct while the Winchesters are locked in. While with the help of Sam and Dean, everybody managed to beat the demons, but Nancy and others met their fateful demise at the hands of Lilith at the end of the episode.


Charisma Carpenter is best known for her role of Cordelia in BuffyVerse. She has also been a part of other projects such as Charmed, Veronica Mars. But did you know that this amazing actress has guest starred in both Supernatural and Lucifer. She played the role of a witch named Maggie Stark in SPN Season 7 Episode ‘Shut Up, Dr. Phil’. Sam and Dean come to investigate her, but manage to help her in repairing her relationship with her husband Don. Charisma appeared in Lucifer Season 2 Episode ‘Weaponizer’ playing the role of Jamie Lee Adrienne who is divorced wife of an an action star.


Timothy Omundson has appeared in both Supernatural and Lucifer. In Lucifer, he played a man named Earl Johnson who is admitted to a psychiatric hospital where Chloe & Lucifer come to investigate a case. Lucifer takes interest in Earl because he claims to be God and addresses Lucifer using the name ‘Samael’. It turns out because of the Medallion of Life which he was wearing in his belt gave his numerous god-like abilities. Timothy played the role of Cain in the Supernatural Universe. Cain is feared among the demons and has trained the Knights of Hell on Lucifer’s orders. After losing the love of his life, he eliminated all the Knights of Hell leaving behind only Abaddon. He made a promise to his dying love and retired from the world of the Supernatural. But when Dean came seeking his help to get the Mark and take the blade to deal with Abaddon, he engages in a battle with the demons. Slowly, he is again pulled back and becomes a victim to the influence of Mark of Cain.
