New crime drama Countdown has shot up the streaming charts just days after it released on Prime Video.
The series, which stars Supernatural and The Boys’ Jensen Ackles and Grey’s Anatomy’s Eric Dane, follows an LAPD officer who joins a secret task force.
He soon discovers that what appears to be a simple murder investigation is actually part of a deadly scheme that could cause the deaths of millions of people.
Following its release on Thursday, Countdown is the second-most watched show on Prime Video worldwide at the moment, and third in the UK specifically.
We Were Liars holds the top spot worldwide, but in the UK, Clarkson’s Farm has it beat.
Over on JustWatch, which tracks user engagement across all streaming services, Countdown is in fifth place in the UK and the US.
And it looks like viewers think this series is pretty good. On IMDB, it currently has a 7.0 average score from 1,700+ user ratings, and 89 written reviews.
“It’s a lot like other procedurals but the Ackles and the rest of the cast give it their own favour,” reads one review. “It’s tight, and fun and engrossing.”
“There is plenty of action and drama to keep you wanting more. I can’t recommend this series enough,” says another, while a third fan wrote “Jensen Ackles proves once again why he’s a powerhouse on screen. As Agent Mark Devlin, he brings a layered, emotionally grounded performance that feels both raw and real.”
