The ‘Shang-Chi’ actor recently met with Hwang Dong-hyuk, the director of the popular series.

Following the South Korean show’s massive success, fans have been anxiously waiting for the second season of Netflix‘s Squid Game, which was officially confirmed this summer. While not much is known about the upcoming installment, new rumors are suggesting that Shang-Chi star Tony Leung will join the series.

The news comes after Leung’s wife and actor Carina Lau posted an image of her husband sitting down with Squid Game‘s director, Hwang Dong-hyuk during his visit to the country for the 27th Busan International Film Festival. “Ready for Squid Game?” she captioned.

Leung further shared with Korea Herald his interest in K-dramas, “If there are roles for which I can overcome the language barrier, I would like to star in Korean drama. If there is a role that does not require me to speak like the characters in that film, maybe I can also be in Korean dramas.” He also named Song Kang-ho (Parasite, The Host, Snowpiercer) and Jeon Do-yeon (The Housemaid, You Are My Sunshine) when asked which actors he would like to work with.

Stay tuned as we learn more about the Season 2 cast of Squid Game.

In case you missed it, Leonardo DiCaprio is rumored to join the third season of the show.
