Star from Broadchurch, Chris Mason has been cast in the  role of Veronic Lodge’s (Camila Mendes) jealous husband in the fifth season of The CW’s Riverdale.

According to Deadline, Mason’s Chad Gekko is described as a “controlling and jealous husband who works on Wall Street. An Alpha dog, Chad is threatened by Veronica’s life in Riverdale, especially her friendship with Archie (KJ Apa).” The introduction of Chad Gekko will come in the fourth episode of Riverdale Season 5 on Wednesday, Feb. 10, which also serves as the episode that a seven-year time jump will take place.

Along with his starring role in BBC America’s Broadchurch, Mason has also appeared in Freeform’s Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists and HBO’s Dirty John.

The series returns for Season 5 on Jan. 20 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
