December 22 Will Be a Great Day for Supernatural Fans

Wayward sons, gather round. After weeks of uncertainty, Supernatural has officially found its next streaming home — and longtime fans finally have a reason to celebrate.

For 15 seasons, viewers followed Dean and Sam Winchester as they crisscrossed the country hunting demons, angels, and everything lurking in between. Whether they were chasing the creature that killed their mother or fighting apocalyptic threats that spanned heaven, hell, and alternate realities, the brothers’ journey became one of the most rewatched genre series of the past two decades.

Now, as Supernatural departs Netflix, fans don’t have to worry about losing access for long. All 15 seasons will be available to stream on Peacock beginning December 22, giving the series a new home just days after its Netflix exit.

First premiering in 2005, Supernatural was originally structured as a five-season arc created by Eric Kripke, following Sam and Dean as they unraveled the truth behind their mother’s death, Sam’s mysterious powers, and their father’s disappearance. With its “monster-of-the-week” format layered over an evolving mythology, the show quickly built a loyal fanbase that tuned in week after week.

What followed was something few series ever achieve. Over the next ten seasons, Supernatural expanded into a sprawling saga involving alternate timelines, cosmic wars, and moral reckoning — while never losing sight of its core theme: family. Along the way, it introduced a deep bench of beloved characters, including Jeffrey Dean Morgan as John Winchester, Jim Beaver as Bobby Singer, Misha Collins as Castiel, Mark Sheppard as Crowley, and Ruth Connell as Rowena.

Though there were attempts to expand the universe with spin-offs, none ever captured the same magic as the original. Nearly 20 years after its debut, fans still hope for a revival — proof of the show’s lasting impact.

The Boys Is Bringing the Supernatural Reunion Fans Wanted
Kripke’s next hit, The Boys, has only strengthened that legacy. Jensen Ackles was the first Supernatural alum to join the series as Soldier Boy, instantly becoming a fan favorite. Later, Morgan appeared as Butcher’s unsettling alter ego, Joe Kessler.

As The Boys heads into its fifth and final season, the excitement has reached another level. It has now been revealed that Collins and Jared Padalecki will also appear in undisclosed roles, setting up an unofficial Supernatural reunion under Kripke’s watch.

With Homelander tightening his grip on America and the Boys scattered and hunted, the final season promises chaos — and no shortage of emotional callbacks for longtime fans.

Until then, December 22 marks a welcome return home for the Winchesters. Supernatural may have left Netflix, but the hunt is far from over.
