See the behind-the-scenes photos of Sam Heughan, John Bell and Richard Rankin for Season 7 of ‘Outlander.’
As the Droughtlander continues, STARZ is helping fans get over hump day by posting a few behind-the-scenes photos from Season 7 of Outlander on social media.
The photos include a shot of Sam Heughan in front of a camera as Jamie Fraser, a shot of John Bell (Young Ian) being playful with Caitlin O’Ryan (Lizzie Wemyss), and Richard Rankin as Roger MacKenzie, swinging a young boy, most likely his son Jemmy, in the air.
The post reads: “What better motivation to get through the second half of the work week than a behind-the-scenes photo dump? #Outlander”

Outlander Season 7 will return to STARZ sometime this summer as production has already wrapped filming in Scotland. It will be based on two of bestselling author Diana Gabaldon’s novels A Breath of Snow and Ashes (book 6) and An Echo in the Bone (book 7) as Season 7 has been supersized to 16 episodes as a result of the romantic, time travel epic drama’s sixth season having been cut short due to COVID-19 and Caitríona Balfe’s (Claire) pregnancy.
In addition to those named above, Season 7 will also see the return of Sophie Skelton as Brianna MacKenzie, David Berry as Lord John, and Paul Gorman as twins Josiah and Keziah Beardsley.
The release of the new Outlander opening title sequence also revealed a bit about the storyline, including Jamie asking Lord John for the blue sapphire stone that is needed for Brianna and Roger to go back to the future because of a health crisis that demands 20th century medical intervention; the arrival of the Revolutionary War, leading to the introduction of a grown-up William Ransom (Charles Vandervaart), Jamie’s illegitimate son by Geneva Dunsany; and the introduction of Denzell Hunter (Joey Phillips), a medical doctor and Quaker, who uses his healing skills on the side of the Americans, and his sister Rachel Hunter (Izzy Meikle-Small).
Outlander Season 7 will premiere this summer on STARZ.
