Grey’s Anatomy is among the shows that have been affected by the Los Angeles wildfires as the series shuts down production.

The ongoing disaster has caused at least 10 deaths, with thousands evacuated from the city since the outbreak started in Palisades.

A number of shows have since paused filming, including Grey’s Anatomy, Abbott Elementary, Young Sheldon spin-off Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, Hacks, NCIS and Suits LA.

According to Deadline, the shows all remain on hold as of yesterday, though the site reports that at least one major studio plans to re-start work in the coming days.

As well as the shutdowns, the wildfires have also had an affect on the ongoing awards season, with next week’s Oscar nominations postponed from Friday, January 17 to Sunday, January 19.

The voting period has also been extended, while many screenings, bake-offs and the Academy Museum have also been affected.

Academy CEO Bill Kramer explained the situation in a letter to members, thanking them for “understanding during this complex time” and adding that the Academy “hopes everyone is safe”.

Several celebrity homes have also burned down in the wildfires, among them Paris Hilton, who said she was “heartbroken” to watch her Malibu house in flames on live TV.

“This home was where we built so many precious memories,” she wrote on Instagram. “It’s where Phoenix took his first steps and where we dreamed of building a lifetime of memories with London.”

She added in her post: “To all the people who have lost their homes, their memories, and their beloved pets. My heartaches for those still in harm’s way or mourning greater losses.

“The devastation is unimaginable. To know so many are waking up today without the place they called home is truly heartbreaking.”
