Supernatural has managed to be on the top for so long. It has transformed into a pop culture phenomenon. It’s a huge achievement that SPN has remained relevant for 15 seasons and airing over 300 episodes which only a few shows can manage to do. While the show came to a bittersweet conclusion in 20202, but it wasn’t because the Network cancelled the show, there were no ratings or budget issues, but it was a mutual decision taken by the lead actors, writers, and the producers. But the SPN Fever isn’t over, it’s prequel series ‘The Winchesters’ is all set to air. The spin-off will also feature Jensen Ackles reprising the role of Dean Winchester. Jensen Ackles revealed in an interview that maybe in future a SPN reboot could be in the cards. Therefore truly there’s no end to Supernatural, why? Because of its fan who have built this community, a big extensive family, who will always keep this show relevant due to their never ending love for it. While the Winchesters hold the record for appearing in the most number of episodes. Sam and Dean Winchester are the heart and soul of the show. While Jared Padalecki has also portrayed the roles of the archangel Lucifer, the angel Gadreel when his character Sam became a vessel to the angels. Interestingly, Jared holds the record for portraying multiple characters.


Jared Padalecki has played the roles of Sam Winchester, Lucifer, Meg, Gadreel, Gar Frankle, Justin Smith, Alpha Shapeshifter, Leviathan, and the alternate variants/versions of Sam Winchester and Lucifer.


Jensen Ackles in his 15 season run has played the different variants of Dean Winchester, the archangel Michael, Alpha Shapeshifter, Buddy, and a soul eater.


The actress Keegan Connor Tracey has played multiple roles on Supernatural. She has made appearances in Season 2, Season 4, and Season 15. She has played the characters of a grief stricken wife Karen Giles, SPN Books publisher Sera Siege, and the Witch Mother.


  • Did you know that Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki have played leading roles in horror movies which are actually remake of the classic ones. Jensen starred in the My Broody Valentine which was released in 2009 and Jared appeared in Friday the 13th. Unfortunately, both the modern remakes were a disappointment.
  • Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan are great friends in real life. Their original name begins with the letter ‘J’, but did you know all these three are linked with the name ‘Dean’. Jensen played Dean Winchester on SPN, Jared played Dean Forester on Gilmore Girls, and Jeffrey has ‘Dean’ as his middle name.
  • Did you know that close to 20 actors who have worked on Supernatural series have appeared in the 2006 released horror film ‘Black Christmas’ which is also a remake of the classic 70s movie of the same name.


  • The characters of Castiel and Bobby Singer were not supposed to be regular or recurring. But due to the tremendous fan response, they were promoted to recurring. Did you know Eric Kripke has cancelled the demise of Castiel on two different occasions.
  • Did you know that the name ‘Winchester’ is a nod to the infamous Winchester Mystery House which was built by Sarah Winchester, owner of the Winchester Company which manufactured firearms. Interestingly, in the Season 4 Episode ‘It’s A Terrible Life’, Sam and Dean are placed in an alternate reality where they are not brothers and have the last names as Sam Wesson & Dean Smith. This is a reference to the Smith and Wesson firearm company.
  • There’s a popular belief that Supernatural was envisioned as a five season arc by Eric Kripke, but this isn’t entirely accurate. Kripke revealed that there was always the uncertainty of cancellation. There was never a ‘x’ amount of seasons that he planned, but he definitely envisioned his arc concluding with the apocalypse. Coincidentally, it all came together in Season 5. Many of the storylines, characters, happened on the fly.
  • Chuck’s pen name Carver Edlund is a tribute to Ben Edlund & Jeremy Carver, the producers of the show. Whereas the character of Bobby Singer was originally planned to be Bobby Manners, to be named after Robert Singer and Kim Manners, but it was eventually changed to Bobby Singer
  • Jared Padalecki has a tough lucky when it comes to stunts. While filming Season 2 Episode 3, Jared’s character Sam is battling vampires in which he has to fall backward, but he ends up breaking a bone in his hand. Jared didn’t even realize that he broke his hand until he got the hand x-rayed. In the episode ‘Children Shouldn’t Play With Dead Things’, Sam can be seen without a cast as it was due to continuity. There is a scene where he is carrying a shovel, it is in order to keep his arm stable. The writers included the zombie attack to explain the broken hand injury. He kept on filming the episodes and went on to have a surgery in midst of shooting. However, this wasn’t the only injury that Jared sustained. In Season 10, Jared can be seen wearing a cast on his shoulder. It was because Jared dislocated his shoulder while messing around with Osric Chau who played Kevin Tran. The writers again came up with a logical explanation for the cast.
