The first trailer for Peaky Blinders star Adrien Brody’s new movie Manodrome has been released.
The new film centres on a young man called Ralphie (DC’s Jesse Eisenberg) who joins a cult-like male self-help group while struggling to make ends meet alongside his pregnant partner Sal (Odessa Young).
The first trailer gives a taste of the disturbing events, as Ralphie meets the leader of the group Dan (Brody), who tells him: “You know you could be a part of our family”.
However, things start to take a dark turn as Ralphie becomes more ingrained within the group, as he is told to “take back [his] power”, and is even branded on his arm. At one point, things get more chilling when he shoots somebody.
Manodrome comes from writer and director John Trengove, who previously helmed 2017 movie The Wound.
Brody played the role of Luca Changretta in the fourth season of Peaky Blinders, and previously won the Oscar for Best Actor for his turn in The Pianist.
Speaking last year, the star reflected on playing Changretta, telling The Hollywood Reporter: “It was such a fun thing to do. I felt welcomed. To jump on a show that you love with great writing and so many prime actors involved is exciting.”
In recent years, Brody has appeared in Succession as Josh Aaronson, and earlier this year had a role in Poker Face as Sterling Frost Jr.
Eisenberg, meanwhile, played the role of Lex Luthor in the DC Universe, and is also well known for appearing in 2010’s The Social Network as Mark Zuckerberg.
