A brand new teaser trailer for season 2 of Invincible has confirmed its premiere date as a special standalone episode is released.

Sharing the new trailer at 2023’s San Diego Comic-Con, Amazon Prime Video confirmed that season 2 will premiere on Friday, November 3.

Picking up where season 1 left off over two-and-a-half years ago, season 2’s eight episodes will be split into two parts, with episodes being released weekly. Following a mid-season break, the second part of season 2 is set to hit screens in early 2024 (via TVLine).

The teaser trailer wasn’t the only treat for fans of the animated series – a standalone episode which explores the backstory of Gillian Jacobs’ Atom Eve was released on Prime Video and is available to watch now.

Announcing the special episode, series co-creator Robert Kirkman gave fans at Comic-Con a screening of the origin episode titled Invincible Atom Eve.

Based on the comic book of the same name created by Kirkman, Ryan Ottley and Cory Walker, Invincible tells the story of 17-year-old Mark Grayson, who’s just like every other guy his age – except his father Nolan is the most powerful superhero on the planet, Omni-Man. But as Mark develops powers of his own, he discovers his father’s legacy may not be as heroic as it seems.

Season 2 will see Mark struggling to rebuild his life following Nolan’s betrayal in season 1. After facing a series of new threats, Mark will battle his greatest fear – turning into his father.

Starring The Walking Dead’s Stephen Yeun as Mark as well as Gillian Jacobs as Atom Eve, the series boasts an impressive voice cast including Sandra Oh, Andrew Rannells, Walton Goggins, Jason Mantzoukas, Ross Marquand, Zazie Beetz, Grey DeLisle, Chris Diamantopoulos, Khary Payton, Zachary Quinto, Kevin Michael Richardson, Seth Rogen and J.K. Simmons.

Invincible season 2 will premiere on November 3 on Prime Video.
