There is good news for Invincible fans, because we now know that the second season of the popular animated series is set to premiere in 2023.

During an interview with Collider about the success of the Lord of the Rings series Rings of Power, Vernon Sanders, Head of Television at Amazon Studios, opened up about when we can expect to see the new season.

At first, he didn’t give much detail, saying: “2023 is going to be a great year for people.”

But when pressed for more information and asked for confirmation on whether the new season will premiere in 2023, the executive gave in and confirmed the news with a “yes”.

We still do not know what date the show will premiere, but it is now certain that the show — which has been renewed for a second and third season — will be released sometime in 2023.

When the series premiered on Prime Video in March 2021, it won the hearts of many people, which prompted its multi-season renewal.

Invincible sees Mark Grayson (who is voiced by Nope and Minari’s Steven Yeun) as he adjusts to his superpowers. Mark is the son of Omni-Man (who is voiced by J.K Simmons), and is expected to be unbeatable.

But his journey to becoming a hero is filled with hardship. The first season of the show followed Mark as he discovered that his father does not live up to everyone’s expectations.

Meanwhile, back in January, Steven Yeun revealed to Collider that the new season is “bonkers” and possibly better than the last.

“I’ve talked to Robert [Kirkman], here and there,” he explained. “He’s super excited about it. He thinks season 2 is gonna be even better than season 1, which I have no doubt about.

“If you go to his source material, Invincible is an incredible comic, and just thinking about how much story hasn’t been told from that run, it’s gonna be bonkers. I’m really excited about it,” he added.

Invincible season 2 returns in 2023. Season 1 is available to stream.
