Kaley Cuoco has provided a new update on her upcoming drama series The Flight Attendant and it sounds like the show will be finished sooner rather than later.
The actress, who played Penny on hit CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory and also voices Harley on DC animated series Harley Quinn, shared a video update on Instagram about the production’s progress, which was halted earlier this year by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Appearing alongside her husband Karl Cook, Cuoco revealed that she is heading back to work on the show very soon.
“The first update would be that I am going back to work!” she announced. “So my sister, me and my trusty assistant Emma go back to New York on Monday. And we have to quarantine – I’m sure you’ll see a lot of stuff on social media about our quarantine.
“We’ll be quarantined for two weeks and you’ll get a look at our shenanigans, I’m sure. And then back to work. We only have like two and a half episodes left, so I’m going to wrap up by the beginning of October.
“But he (Cook) can’t really visit me because it technically breaks my quarantine so it’s a whole thing. So I’m gonna eat it all up this weekend.”
She added that she is “very excited” to finish working on The Flight Attendant and said that it is due to hit our screens “this fall”.
“I don’t have an exact date but that is exciting at all in itself,” she said. “I don’t know if you guys know this but I have been working on this project for three years. It goes back to three years from when I actually found the original book, so it’s very exciting for me, and then obviously developing it for over two years.”
The couple also revealed that they have adopted a new dog called Petunia after rescuing her and paying for urgent surgery she was in need of and she made a very cute appearance in the video.
Cuoco is starring in and executive producing The Flight Attendant, which is based on the 2018 novel of the same name by Chris Bohjalian. It follows cabin crew member Cassandra Bowden (Cuoco) after she wakes up next to a dead body in a Dubai hotel with absolutely no memory of what happened or how she got there.
Although the show was created as a limited series, Cuoco has teased that there are plans for a second season should there be demand for it.
