Melissa Rauch really scored it big when she got the role of Bernadette in the hugely successful CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory.

It is no exaggeration to say that this role was completely life-altering for her.

Not only she went from collecting unemployment checks to raking up half a million dollars per episode, and not only she went from total obscurity to being famous across the world, she also established a wealth of friendships, both heartwarming and really helpful to any actress who wishes to continue her career.

And Melissa Rauch does wish to continue, instead of resting on her laurels and living on the money TBBT earned her.

She often collaborates with her husband Winston Beigel in writing and producing movies and plays, and she since appeared in the Netflix film The Laundromat while also lending her voice to the TV shows Jeopardy! and Firebuds.

But her most notable post-TBBT role is the lead role on the NBC sitcom Night Court.

Nigh Court is a reboot/sequel of the 1980s series of the same name, which follows judge Abby Stone, the daughter of the original series’ protagonist Harold “Harry” T. Stone, as she presides over the night shift of a Manhattan arraignment court, while also trying to keep her personal life in order.

Night Court appears to be a reasonable success, and has been renewed for Season 2.

And what do you know? Some her old TBBT colleagues did not forget about her, and came to cheer her up, as the pilot episode was filmed.

In fact, executive producers Steve Molaro and Steve Holland appeared on the set of Night Court taking Melissa completely by surprise.

As she explained in the Glamour Magazine interview:

“[Executive producers and showrunners] Steve Molaro and Steve Holland came by as we were filming one of the beginning scenes. I hadn’t seen the Steves since early 2020, so when they showed up, I was so insanely happy to see them.

I think I said, “I can’t even look at you because I’m going to burst into tears and my poor makeup artist will have to redo everything.”

Well, it is good to see that they’ve finished their collaboration on TBBT on the best of terms.
