MONEY HEIST has seemingly been confirmed after the cast of the Netflix series announced they were preparing to return to filming in a short video shared by Netflix Spain.
Fans of La Casa De Papel have been anxiously awaiting news of a fifth season as the Bank of Spain heist is still underway. While Netflix have remained relatively tight-lipped about the future of Money Heist, the Spanish Twitter account shared a clip of the cast revealing they were preparing to get back on set to film. Lisbon star Itziar Ituño has even hinted the next season will see the end of the robbery.
In a video titled Volvemos which means we return, the cast of Money Heist can be seen alongside other stars of Spanish Netflix shows.
Alvaro Morte, who plays The Professor, announced: “What excites me most about filming again is reuniting with all the people.”
He could be seen fiddling with a pair of black-rimmed glasses much like his Money Heist character.
Lisbon star Itziar added: “It is knowing how the story ends,” as she tied her hair in her character’s trademark bun.
Season four of the series saw the gang get one step closer to pulling off their robbery of the Bank of Spain.
Although they suffered several set backs, including the death of Nairobi (played by Alba Flores), Lisbon’s arrival in the final episode marked the gang’s next step to getting out with the gold.
As the gang now have Gandia (José Manuel Poga) back in their custody, they are poised to continue with their plan without further distraction.
Could Itziar’s comment have revealed the heist will come to an end in the next season?
For the first time, the gang may have to try and escape the bank without the help of The Professor.
He ended season four held at gun point by Alicia Sierra (Najwa Nimri), who was out for revenge after she was sacked from her role of Inspector.
It comes as fans have theorised the series will end with Tokyo (Ursula Corbero) as the sole survivor.
Tokyo has narrated the series since it began as she was the first person The Professor appeared to recruit to help him steal millions from the Royal Mint.
Now, fans think her role as narrator means she will be the only person to survive.
One Reddit user posited: “I searched this on google “why does Tokyo narrate the heists in money heist” and as a result, I found this as the first result.
“Now I don’t believe in what I search on google whether it is a symptom of a disease or anything.”
They added they found the following result: “Tokyo (Ursula Corbero) is the only one left alive in the end.
“Redditor redpa1ntt suggests the reason Tokyo is the narrator is because she’s the only one who survives the heists.
“While we’ve lost some members along the way, the majority of the gang members are from the original eight in S1.”
But long-time fans of the series will know Money Heist was actually cancelled after two series in Spain until Netflix picked it up.
This would mean Tokyo wasn’t originally intended to be the sole survivor however, show bosses may have changed their plans after Netflix asked for them to come up with another heist.
