Netflix on Wednesday dropped behind-the-scenes pictures from the sets of the Spanish crime thriller series Money Heist featuring Álvaro Morte, Pedro Alonso, Úrsula Corberó, Miguel Herrán and Jaime Lorente.

In the first picture, Álvaro Morte, who plays Professor in the hit series, is all smiles with Pedro Alonso, who portrays his witty elder brother Berlin. While Morte sports a grey tweed jacket over a chequered shirt and olive pants, Alonso dons a satin black bath robe for the picture.

Berlin, a prequel to the thriller series, based on the life of the titular character, hit Netflix on December 29 last year. It revolved around Andres de Fonollosa a.k.a Berlin in the prime of his life, risking his own heist by falling in love with the wife of the man he is about to rob.

As compared to the character who is terminally ill in the original five-part Money Heist series, the prequel shows an energetic Berlin who loves surprises and romanticises the act of thievery.

Miguel Herrán, Jaime Lorente, Úrsula Corberó and José Manuel Poga sport their red jumpsuits and black bullet-proof vests, and give out quirky poses for a picture.

Úrsula Corberó and Miguel Herrán, who play lovebirds Tokyo and Rio, respectively, beam with joy in one of the photos.

Other Money Heist stars like Darko Perić, Esther Acebo, Itziar Ituño and Hovik Keuchkerian, who play Helsinki, Monica, Raquel and Bogota, respectively, feature in the last slide.

Season 1 of Money Heist, released in 2017, revolves around a man going by the name of The Professor, who hires eight thieves to carry out a heist at the Royal Mint of Spain. The gang reunite in the third and fourth seasons to attempt an even riskier heist at the Bank of Spain.

Part 1 and 2 of the fifth season, which came out in 2021, unravelled the final battle as the gang of thieves fought for survival inside the Bank of Spain, while The Professor orchestrated a complex escape amid personal losses.

Following the immense popularity of the web series, the makers also released two documentary films Money Heist: The Phenomenon and Money Heist: From Tokyo to Berlin in 2020 and 2021, which offered behind-the-scenes glimpses of the making of the show.
