Berlin, the Money Heist spinoff, will return to Netflix for a second season. “The iconic character, played by Pedro Alonso, will be back with a new heist and more love,” the streamer said Monday.
Berlin‘s season one gang will be back for season two. They are Michelle Jenner (Isabel), who plays Keila, an expert in electronic engineering; Tristán Ulloa (Fariña) as Damián, a philanthropic professor and Berlin’s confidant; Begoña Vargas (Welcome to Eden) as Cameron, who always lives on the edge; Julio Peña Fernández (Through My Window) as Roi, Berlin’s faithful squire; and Joel Sánchez as Bruce, the relentless man of action in the gang.
“During its premiere week, Berlin was the most-watched series globally and reached the top 10 in 91 countries,” Netflix said. “Since then, it has remained in the top 10 for seven consecutive weeks in non-English TV, amassing 348 million hours viewed and 53 million total views. The series is now ranked at number nine among the most-watched non-English-language series in the history of Netflix.”
The filming of the second season of Berlin, created by Álex Pina (Money Heist, Sky Rojo) and Esther Martínez Lobato (Money Heist, Sky Rojo), will begin in 2025.
The show comes from Pina’s TV production company Vancouver Media, which is currently filming El refugio atómico (The Fallout Shelter) for Netflix. The drama series is set as World War III is about to break out, leading a group of multimillionaires to take refuge in a luxury bunker.
