Netflix’s upcoming Wednesday Season 2 has sparked discussions after a teaser trailer subtly featured a controversial actor from its first season. The highly anticipated series is expected to make waves upon its release this year, over two years after the debut of Season 1.

Jenna Ortega, along with much of the original cast, is set to return as Wednesday Addams, embarking on a new chapter of chaos and mystery at Nevermore Academy.

A Controversial Moment in the New Trailer
In the teaser trailer for Wednesday Season 2, a brief clip prominently featured Percy Hynes White, whose presence has stirred controversy.

Netflix recently released a 30-second promotional video showcasing upcoming 2025 projects, including highlights from Squid Game, Stranger Things, and Wednesday.

Among the Wednesday footage, a quick shot showed a large assembly at Nevermore Academy. This scene, from Season 1, Episode 3, includes Principal Weems addressing students about upcoming activities like volunteer opportunities and performances for Outreach Day.

Notably, the lower-left corner of the frame features Percy Hynes White, who played Xavier Thorpe in the first season. White became a contentious figure after being accused of sexual assault at a party in January 2024. Netflix previously announced White’s removal from Wednesday Season 2 following the allegations.

The trailer clip where White briefly appears comes at the 0:07 mark.

Will Percy Hynes White Appear in Season 2?
Despite his brief appearance in this trailer, White’s character is not expected to be part of Wednesday Season 2. Netflix’s decision to write him out was made following public backlash, with reactions from fans ranging from support to disappointment.

In Season 1, Xavier Thorpe was initially positioned as a possible antagonist before Hunter Doohan’s Tyler Galpin was revealed to be the true villain. Writing Thorpe out of the story in Season 2 likely required minimal adjustment, but the inclusion of White in this teaser has reignited conversations surrounding his controversy.

For now, details about Wednesday Season 2 remain shrouded in mystery. Netflix kicked off the marketing campaign in late 2024, but fans are eagerly awaiting more substantial footage and plot revelations. Speculation has even circulated that the upcoming season could mark the end of the series.

As anticipation builds, viewers can only wonder what surprises the second season will bring to Nevermore Academy.
