Chace Crawford is the latest cast member from Prime Video’s The Boys confirmed to appear in the superhero show’s upcoming spinoff Gen V.
The Boys star Chace Crawford will make an appearance on the upcoming spinoff series Gen V as his superhero character The Deep.
Entertainment Weekly was the first to report the reprisal. Crawford is now the sixth cast member from The Boys confirmed to appear in Gen V, which follows the students of Godolkin University, the prestigious college for super-powered young adults. Jessie T. Usher, Claudia Doumit, Colby Minifie, P.J. Byrne and Jensen Ackles will also reprise their roles from The Boys as speedster A-Train, Congresswoman Victoria Neuman, Vought CEO Ashley Barrett, Vought’s in-house filmmaker Adam Bourke and Soldier Boy, respectively.
Gen V, which was filmed under the working title The Boys Presents: Varsity, is the first live-action spinoff series in The Boys Universe. The upcoming superhero show is primarily set at God U, which is owned and operated by Vought International. While plot details are scarce, it has been confirmed that students who attend God U “put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test” competing in Hunger Games-inspired tests to earn “the best contracts in the best cities.” Gen V was filmed around Ontario, Canada, from May to September 2022.
When Is Gen V Set?
Recently, there has been some confusion online regarding when Gen V takes place. Luckily, The Boys’ official X account has cleared up the timeline, revealing that Gen V is set “between S3 and S4. So the kiddos at God U all saw Homelander laser a guy’s head off to the sound of thunderous applause,” reads the post. Despite Gen V featuring cameos from several important characters from The Boys, it remains unknown at this time if the upcoming fourth season of the fan-favorite show will be teased or set up in Gen V.
Who Stars in The Boys Spinoff?
Jaz Sinclair leads Gen V as Marie Moreau, whose superpower is that she can manipulate and weaponize the blood in her body. After being accepted into Godolkin, Marie meets fellow students Luke Riordan/Golden Boy (Patrick Schwarzenegger), master of magnetism Andre Anderson (Chance Perdomo), size-shrinking Emma Meyer (Lizze Broadway), the gender-shifting Jordan Li (played by both London Thor and Derek Luh) and mind-controller Cate Dunlap (Maddie Phillips). Clancy Brown will also recur throughout Season 1 as Richard “Rich Brink” Brinkerhoff.
The first three seasons of The Boys and Season 1 of The Boys Presents: Diabolical are available to stream on Prime Video. The first three episodes of Gen V will debut on Prime Video on Sept. 29.
