One Piece has announced that Magic Mike star Joe Manganiello is joining the cast for season two.
The actor is confirmed to star in the live-action adaptation’s second season as Mr 0, a major antagonist in the original manga.
The announcement was made during the Netflix Geeked Week Live show on Thursday (September 19), where Manganiello took to the stage and expressed his excitement over getting to play the villain.
“To be trusted with one of the greatest characters ever in manga and fantasy… I’ve been waiting for a character like this my entire career,” he said.
It was also confirmed that Lera Abova is joining the cast of season two as Miss All Sunday, otherwise known as ‘Devil Child’.
Together, Mr 0 and Miss All Sunday make up Baroque Works’ most dangerous duo.
The news comes after it was confirmed that Bridgerton star Charithra Chandran will also be joining the Netflix series as Miss Wednesday, aka Vivi.
“Hey guys! I am so excited to be joining the cast of One Piece, and I feel incredibly grateful to [creator] Oda Sensei for trusting me with the role of Vivi,” she said last month.
“I know how much she means to all of you, and I am going to work my hardest to do her justice and make you all proud. See you soon!”
Other new cast members include Sons of Anarchy’s Katey Sagal, who will play Dr Kureha, and The Morning Show’s Mark Harelik, who’s taking on the role of Dr Hiriluk.
Filming on the second season of One Piece officially began in South Africa in July, with Netflix sharing the news with a behind-the-scenes video.
