Outlander star Sam Heughan celebrated his birthday in Edinburgh at the weekend with cake, owls and a caber toss.
Sam, who is turning 44, was running his My Peak Challenge over the weekend which included workouts, outdoor activities and a gala night with dinner and dancing.
He documented the event at Murrayfield stadium on his Instagram, showing off all the outdoor activities despite the gloomy weather.
The website describes the event as a ‘unique blend of wellness, camaraderie, celebration and more’.
Sam took part in activities including the caber toss at Murrayfield stadium. Other highlights included highland dancing, bale tossing, falconry, yoga, shadow boxing and tug of war. He said: “Tomorrow, there’s going to be a few sore bodies!”
The Outlander star posted pictures of himself looking happy with tawny owls and an eagle at the event.
Attendees wished Sam an early birthday with the whole crowd singing happy birthday with a cake presented to him at the gala night.
He was seen struggling to cut his birthday cake which was a giant My Peak Challenge logo shaped cake shouting “It’s harder than the last one!”
Sam Heughan is the founder of My Peak Challenge which is “a global movement dedicated to educating and inspiring its members to live healthier, happier and more balanced lives”. The community has raised millions of pounds for its charity partners – WWF, Marie Curie and Blood Cancer UK.
