It’s hard to believe that it’s been 11 year since Sam Heughan was cast as Jamie Fraser in the hit time travel show Outlander.

To celebrate the amazing milestone, Outlander sat down with Sam’s co-stars to talk about what they remember from their first day working with him.

In the post they shared the video with the caption: “Eleven years ago, @samheughan was cast as our JAMMF, changing the Outlander-verse forever. To celebrate we had some of the cast look back at their earliest moments with our leading man…”

First up was Caitriona Balfe who plays Jamie’s wife Claire. Cait looked back on her first scenes with Jamie where she had to relocate his shoulder after injuring it. She went on to add that the weather was torrential rain the whole time compared to the scenes filmed with Claire’s first husband Frank, played by Tobias Menzies.

Cait filmed two weeks with Tobias first and then filmed her scenes with Sam and noted the big differences.

Next up was Richard Rankin, who plays Roger MacKenzie in the show, who is Jamie’s son-in-law.

Richard laughed and said that the pair’s first scene was actually a fighting scene and they got into it so much that producers told them they had to scale it back a bit.

Then Sophie Skelton told how her first scene with Sam was actually when Jamie’s daughter Brianna met her father for the first time after she travelled back through the stones.

Sam, 44, has had fans across the globe swooning after him since making his mark on the popular TV show which is based on Diana Gabaldon’s book franchise.

Many fans flocked to the comments on the video to congratulate the actor on the milestone.

One wrote: “Perfect casting! Happy Castaversary!”

Another said: “Sam was made to play JAMMF!”

While one added: “Sam IS Outlander!”
