Outlander: Blood of My Blood is going to feature a key character from Outlander in its season one finale, after fans were left hanging after the show went on a short hiatus and only a trailer to tide them over in the interim.
A post on the show’s official Instagram account read: “I know some of you have been waiting for this moment! Henry’s brother Quentin aka Uncle Lamb is coming to this week’s #BloodOfMyBlood finale.”
The caption sat beside an image of Uncle Lamb (played by George Kemp) kneeling in the sand by the sea and holding a shell, reflecting his interest in archaeology and history.
Many Outlander fans took to the comments section underneath the Instagram post to share their thoughts.
One person posted: “At last! After 7 incredible seasons of Outlander, one more to come with Season 8, and 10 episodes of Blood of My Blood, we’ll finally meet the man who shaped Claire — her uncle, Lamb.”
While a second wrote: “Henry’s brother? Good casting as he looks similar to Jeremy.”
A third noted: “Of course he’s arriving for the finale! Maybe we will get to see our wee Claire too?”
Yet a fourth fan said: “I’ve been wanting more of a story of his life with young Claire for so many years!”
Someone else commented: “I hadn’t thought about him for ages. But now it occurs to me what if he was a traveller too? That’s why he was fascinated with history… Suspicious Claire may be able to travel… brought her up to be the way she is… so she could survive if/ when she travelled. Kind of like Frank taught Brianna a few things like chopping woods, shooting, building fires [sic].”
Another simply added: “Jesus h Roosevelt Christ it’s about damn time! [sic].”
Starz previously confirmed the character would be turning up in Outlander’s prequel series, but he’s only been mentioned by name so far.
Uncle Lamb appeared in flashbacks in Outlander season one and was portrayed by actor Prentis Hancock.
Claire Fraser (Caitríona Balfe) explained her unusual upbringing and travelling the world with her archeologist uncle after she refused to go to boarding school.
Her uncle was essentially her primary parent figure after she believed her mother and father had died in a car crash, and he had a huge influence on Claire.
Moreover, Claire met her first husband and historian Frank Randall (Tobias Menzies) thanks to Uncle Lamb.
Sadly, Uncle Lamb met a tragic end when he was killed during the Blitz after the auditorium he was lecturing in was bombed.
Outlander: Blood of My Blood airs on Fridays on Starz in the USA and on Saturdays on MGM+ via Prime Video in the UK
Outlander season 8 will air on Starz and MGM+ via Prime Video in early 2026
