An actor from the hit TV series Outlander is to stand trial charged with raping a woman.
Gregory Odjig, 45, is said to have carried out the attack at the Premier Suites Plus apartments in Glasgow’s Bath Street on May 16, 2021. Prosecutors claim the woman was intoxicated and asleep or unconscious resulting in her being unable to consent. Odjig faces a separate assault charge of punching her on the head.
The case was called for a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow today. Ronnie Renucci KC, for Odjig, said his client denied the charges. He added that Odjig — who was not at the hearing — lives in Canada. The court heard that a trial for June 2024 had been identified.
