Annette Badland, acclaimed for her roles as Mrs. Fitz in Outlander and Babe Smith in the BBC soap EastEnders, has nabbed an exciting role in Netflix’s hit LGBTQ+ series Heartstopper. The 74-year-old star is set to grace our screens once more when the show’s third season drops this October.

Beloved by Netflix viewers, Heartstopper is a heartwarming coming-of-age series based on the graphic novels by Alice Oseman. The show delves into the enchanting love story between high schoolers Nick (Kit Connor) and Charlie (Joe Locke).

Jonathan Bailey of Bridgerton fame is all set to appear as Jack Maddox, an Instagram-famous writer who becomes the object of Charlie’s celebrity adoration, as dropped by the streaming giant.

With palpable excitement, Netflix UK and Ireland shared this April: “It’s not just Jonathan Bailey joining Heartstopper S3, we’re also welcoming Hayley Atwell as Nick’s Aunt Diane and Eddie Marsan as Charlie’s therapist Geoff! ” Fans are on the edge of their seats for the October 3 debut of Heartstoppers newest installment.

At the Screen Actors Guild Awards in LA earlier this very year in February, Annette shone on the red carpet. Her Apple TV+ comedy Ted Lasso, where she sparkles as Mae the Landlady, racked up several award nominations, reports the Daily Record.

The star, Annette, turned every head at the award ceremony, dazzling fans as she posed with her cast from “Outlander” on the red carpet. They were in the running for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, but “The Bear” ultimately snagged the prize that evening at LA’s Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall.

Dressed to impress, Annette lit up the room in a gorgeous ivory gown embellished with gold accents, courtesy of London’s renowned fashion house Bombshell. She completed the look with gold accessories woven into her hair in tree branch patterns, complemented by elegant drop earrings, a chic golden bangle, and a gold clutch bag sparkling in her hand.

Admirers took to social media en masse to share their adoration for her show-stopping red carpet ensemble, posting rave reviews. One admirer gushed: “You look amazing…what a lady.”

Another chimed in with high praise: “What a beauty! ” The accolades continued with words like “stunning”, “beautiful”, and “gorgeous” inundating the commentary, as her gown was celebrated as “exquisite”.

“Outlander” is steeped in history, unfolding amid the tumultuous Jacobite rebellion.

Within this evocative historical drama, Annette brings Mrs Fitz to life, the head housekeeper at Castle Leoch, navigating the unpredictable aftermath following the clan’s dissolve and castle destruction as Season 1 concludes.
