Outlander star Sam Heughan as admitted to the Jamie Fraser item he’s going to be taking home once the drama is done and dusted with.

The Starz romantic drama is in the middle of a hiatus, having aired its season seven midseason finale in June 2023.

Subscribers have yet to been treated to the second lot of episodes but already know there will be an eighth outing to follow with filming expected to start sometime later this year.

Sadly, the announcement of its future was bittersweet as it was also revealed that this would be the final chapter in Jamie (played by Sam Heughan) and Claire Fraser’s (Caitriona Balfe) story.

With the end in sight, Heughan has already made a note of what he wants to keep as a “souvenir” from his 10 years on the show.

Appearing on Good Morning America to promote season seven, presenter Robin Roberts joked to Balfe about being able to wear “normal clothes” in her future work.

“It will be nice to be able to dress myself”, Balfe replied.

“But it’s going to be such a bittersweet moment, I mean, I think all things have to come to an end but it’s going to be really hard to say goodbye to this show for sure.”

The pair were then questioned on what “souvenirs” they were going to take and Heughan had an answer already lined up.

He said: “I love all of Jamie’s weapons but I love his boots.

“His boots are like the thing that, I feel like Jamie once I’ve put them on.

Heughan then turned to Balfe to jokingly ask: “Are you going to keep anything? The corset maybe?”

Balfe laughed but confirmed she would not be taking the corset with her.

When Outlander does return for the rest of season seven, it will pick up from that memorable series six cliffhanger.

Brianna (Sophie Skelton) and Roger MacKenzie (Richard Rankin) were terrified when they realised their son Jemmy was missing.

They believed Rob (Chris Fulton) took him through the stones and so Roger left his wife and Amanda in the 1980s so he could travel back in time and find their son.

Meanwhile, Jamie, Claire and Ian (John Bell) had been travelling for months when they finally saw the Scottish coast, signifying that they were home at last.
