Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish are up to something—but we’re not totally sure what it is.
The fan-favorite Outlander duo took to Instagram on Saturday, Jan. 28 to announce that they are once again joining forces on a new mystery project.
“We are back together,” Heughan, 42, is heard saying in the clip, adding, “This is surreal, this is not a nightmare.” McTavish, 62, then confirms that the video of the two actors in the same room is “not photoshopped” and that they are in fact back together, which Heughan proves by putting his hand on McTavish’s shoulder.
“I bet you can’t guess what we’re up to,” Heughan then tells the camera, while teasing, “It’s coming soon-ish.”

Heughan left a similar message in the caption on the post, which read, “We are back together!!! I’m not sure why. Or what we are announcing. But it’s coming soon!…ish.”
Fans quickly flocked to the comments to wager their guesses for what the dynamic duo could be up to, and they seem to have some solid theories.
Some wondered if the video meant a new season of Men in Kilts, a docuseries that follows the two Scottish natives as they explore their homeland and its history. Season 1 came out in 2021, but fans are still hoping there’s another season in their future.
Others speculated that the cryptic video could mean another book, as the pair have already co-authored Clanlands: Whiskey, Warfare and a Scottish Adventure Like No Other, which covered their journey through Scotland to delve deep into the country’s culture.
Hueghan also tagged @radarbooks and @octopus_books_ in his Instagram caption, further fueling the speculation that another book is in the works.
Regardless of what they’re working on, it’s safe to say it will be a hit no matter what. One fan seemed to sum up the general feeling consensus of the post, writing in the comments, “don’t care what you’re doing together just let us watch and listen in! Love your Bromance 😆🙌🏻”
