The excitement for Outlander: Blood of my Blood is reaching a fever pitch this week. The cast gathered on an appropriately Scottish blue carpet in Los Angeles on Tuesday for the season one premiere, joined by a few familiar faces, including Jamie Fraser himself, Sam Heughan.
Both the original Outlander and Blood of my Blood casts were also together in San Diego last weekend (minus Caitríona Balfe and Jeremy Irvine, due to scheduling issues) for Comic Con 2025 to promote their respective shows. The biggest reveal for the eighth and final season of Outlander is that it will indeed be coming in early 2026.
As for Blood of my Blood, the official trailer for the show debuted in July. The Outlander prequel will tell two love stories simultaneously: that of Jamie’s parents, Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser, and of Claire’s parents, Julia and Henry Beauchamp. And there will be some familiar characters along the way, including Colum and Dougal MacKenzie, and Murtagh Fitzgibbons Fraser. But what remains to be seen is how much these storylines will intersect.

Sam Heughan looked dapper as always in an all-black ensemble. The Scottish actor is preparing to step into the traitorous and murderous shoes of Macbeth with the Royal Shakespeare Company’s stage production later this year.
