Work has recently been underway on the final episodes, and the Netflix show’s account has now confirmed that production has officially wrapped for the last time.
Posting a series of behind the scenes pictures, the series wrote on X/Twitter: “THAT’S A WRAP ON STRANGER THINGS. See you in 2025.”
Mike Wheeler actor Finn Wolfhard has since shared his own tribute, posting a series of cast pictures including him and his fellow stars all the way back on season one.
“We just wrapped Stranger things Season 5. I’m still in shock,” he wrote. “We shot it for a year and I’ll miss all of my friends and our characters terribly.
“When I think of the show, I picture this first photo. A bunch of goofy young people making something they think is cool but really have no clue what’s to come.
“I feel like we’re still those people and I’m lucky to still stand beside them today. I hope you’ll love this season as much as I do. See you all next year.”

Work on the fifth season began earlier this year, though was pushed back due to 2023’s writers’ strike.
Earlier this month, star Maya Hawke (Robin Buckley) teased what fans can expect from the final eight episodes.
“We’re making, basically, eight movies. The episodes are very long,” she told the Podcrushed podcast, while also addressing the long wait between each season.
“They are very intense and serious about the quality of the continued writing, and so it takes a long time to write each season and a long time to shoot them,” Hawke added.
