Supernatural’s final ever episode is almost here, having been delayed because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Stars Jared Paladecki and Jensen Ackles have spoken a lot about the long-running show’s last ever episode in the build-up to it airing, stopping short of revealing exactly what is going to happen in the episode itself.

In their latest bit of a promo, a PaleyFest livestream (via Entertainment Weekly), Jensen admitted that he initially had ‘reservations’ (the publication’s words, not his) about it.

“The more that I thought about it,” he explained, “the more that I mulled over all the different possibilities of what could happen, and maybe what should happen, it’s interesting to think that I kept coming back to what ended up happening. It’s a fantastic way for the show to wrap up.”

Jared was similarly enthusiastic about the episode, stating that he “couldn’t be more pleased with the way it turned out,” and exclaiming, without any doubt, that “the series finale is my favourite episode of all-time.”

We do know that the finale will feature some familiar faces, but we shouldn’t necessarily expect it to be a completely happy ending, because that isn’t really what Supernatural is all about.
