The 2023 Hollywood Critics Association TV Awards nominees were announced today, and Jensen Ackles was nominated for his role as Soldier Boy in season 3 of Prime Video’s The Boys for Best Supporting Actor in a Streaming Drama Series.
Ackles joined the beloved series and portrayed the character in a way fans have never seen him before.
Ackles had an established connection to the show, with The Boys showrunner being Eric Kripke, who also created the long-standing show Supernatural in which Ackles co-starred with Jared Padalecki. That show went on for 15 seasons on The CW, before ending in 2020.
Ackles will also be up against his The Boys co-star, Chace Crawford.
The Boys was also nominated for Best Streaming Drama Series, Best Directing in a Streaming Drama Series and Best Writing in a Streaming Drama Series. Antony Starr and Jack Quaid were nominated for Best Actor in a Streaming Drama Series, and Karen Fukuhara and Erin Moriarty were also nominated for Best Actress in a Streaming Drama Series.
