A recent photo of Supernatural vet Jensen Ackles may have accidentally spoiled his return as Soldier Boy in the upcoming The Boys Season 4.

Following Ackles’ hilarious guest appearance on Gen V, many The Boys fans have expressed their desire to see the fan-favorite villain again in the highly-anticipated next installment to the hit Prime Video series. Even though the streamer hasn’t made any official announcements about Soldier Boy’s return, fans may finally have the answer thanks to a brand-new photo of Ackles playing golf. Per The Direct, the actor was spotted wearing a black cap which bears the title logo of The Boys Season 4. Although this isn’t a definite confirmation of Soldier Boy’s appearance in the new season, this definitely fuels fan speculation about his The Boys return.

The Boys is executive produced and created by Eric Kripke. It is led by Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie Campbell, Laz Alonso as MM, Tomer Capone as Frenchie, Karen Fukuhara as Kimiko, and Erin Moriarty as Annie/ Starlight. They are the titular team of vigilantes trying to expose the dark truth behind Vought’s superhero empire. The additional cast includes Antony Starr as Homelander, Jessie T. Usher as A-Train, Chace Crawford as the Deep, Nathan Mitchell as Black Noir, Colby Minifie as Ashley Barrett, and Claudia Doumit as Victoria Neuman.

What to Expect in The Boys Season 4?
The Boys Season 4 will feature Homelander facing a lawsuit after he publicly kills one of Starlight’s supporters during the Season 3 finale. Meanwhile, Butcher will be dealing with the consequences of Supe virus that was unveiled in Gen V Season 1, where he made a mid-credits cameo. It has also been confirmed that Season 4 will take place a month after the events of the spinoff’s finale. At the moment, it’s currently unclear if some of the Gen V characters will also appear in the main series’ latest season.

Ahead of The Boys’ return, Amazon MGM Studios has already confirmed the Gen V Season 2 renewal, and the development of a brand-new spinoff, titled The Boys: Mexico which hails executive producers Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal. As for the future of the main series, Kripke admitted that The Boys could last longer than his initial five-season plan, given his experience with Supernatural. “I have learned my lesson [with Supernatural] and I’ve stopped predicting how many seasons these shows go. You will find out in hindsight,” he said.

Following the critical success of Gen V Season 1, Amazon executive Vernon Sanders previously expressed the company’s commitment to expanding the superhero franchise. “Eric has had a vision for what this all leads to for years now, and we’ve been in an ongoing conversation about what comes next,” Sanders said. “And if Eric is interested in continuing the story, we’ll be the first ones in line to really work with him on what that is.”

The Boys Season 4 is expected to debut sometime this year.
