The Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco has issued a warning to dog owners after her beloved rescue dog named King underwent “intense surgery”.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, Cuoco shared a series of photographs of King who is healing after having two foxtail plants surgically removed from his body.
“This is for all my dog lovers out there! This is a foxtail. They are extremely dangerous to animals especially dogs. We spent the last 2 months trying to figure out what was wrong [with] our King,” Cuoco wrote alongside a picture of the dangerous plant.
“He had been violently ill and nothing was working. Many vet appointments, surgery and endless meds. Finally found a specialist who found twp of these in his body days away from piercing his heart!!”
In the next snap the actress shared, King can be seen with shaved patches on his body, neck and legs after undergoing the life-saving operation.
“He is doing soooo much better but as you can see he has tons of stitches from a super intense surgery… please be careful,” Cuoco captioned the image.
“Also please note these must be surgically removed. They do not heal on their own,” she cautioned.
Alongside the final picture, Cuoco wrote: “Take care of your pets or don’t have one! We are so grateful he is ok and will live a long happy life!”
It’s no secret that Cuoco loves her dogs, earlier this year the star announced the death of her pet chihuahua with a touching tribute.
“You were with me during some of the hardest moments I’ve had in my life,” she captioned a carousel of pictures of her companion. “You brought endless joy to everyone that met you, and kissed my nose when I needed it most. You were as special as it gets and I’m so grateful we found each other.”
