Kaley Cuoco, 37, may post a lot about dogs, but it turns out this all-around animal lover has a fondness for horses as well. Now, following the passing of her pet horse, Bella, the Big Bang Theory star made a tribute to the steed with a new Instagram post, showing off her horseback riding skills in the process.

“Sometimes horses come into your life and truly make you see the world in a new and beautiful way,” Cuoco wrote at the beginning of her emotional caption. “Si Bella, you were the horse of a lifetime. Still to this day I cannot believe you were mine. You taught me how to fly and put me in dream arenas I thought could only ever be a dream. You had the heart of a warrior truly till your last breath. You deserve all the love, gratitude and respect my heart can muster. Thank you for giving me your all, since the day we met.”
In the rest of her caption, the Based on a True Story actress thanked everyone else who was “part of her journey.” She also added, “[Bella] was special to so many and will remain to be.” Cuoco’s slideshow features pictures of her with the horse, including shots of the pair competing in show jumping competitions.
If you didn’t know, the California native has been involved in the equestrian sport for years, telling Jimmy Kimmel in 2016: “It’s become a very important part of my life, very serious…It kind of levels me out with this whole Hollywood thing.”
In fact, Cuoco even missed the filming of two episodes of the Big Bang Theory back in 2010, after she broke her leg in a horse-riding accident.
Still, the Flight Attendant star likes to keep that part of her life separate from her Hollywood existence, and she even uses an alias when competing. “Bringing paparazzi to horse shows is not a great idea,” she explained to Kimmel. “It spooks the horses, so I’ve actually started showing under a secret name.” (Cuoco, of course, did not reveal the alias.)
We’re so sorry for your loss, Kaley.
