The Big Bang Theory’s Kunal Nayyar has revealed that he is stepping back from social media in an emotional post.

The actor played Rajesh ‘Raj’ Koothrappali on the CBS sitcom until it ended after 12 seasons last year.

And after posting an emotional Instagram tribute to the show on the one-year anniversary of the last day of filming earlier this month, Kunal has now revealed he is taking a step back from his personal Instagram page.

Comments on the post are also turned off.

“Over the next few weeks, I will be transitioning my personal page over to my publicity team,” Kunal wrote.

“Here you will still find news on the acting/producing front, as well as an occasional random selfie of me pouting.”

He added: “To all of my close friends, if you need me, text me.

“And to everyone else, I love you more than words can imagine, though I will be checking in from time to time, for now, it is me saying adieu… ”

In other Big Bang Theory news, fellow star Kaley Cuoco recently paid tribute to the show one year after its final episode aired.

She also explained that she’s hoping for a big reunion special further down the line.

“You know, what I would hope for, the same way that Friends is doing this get-together, I really hope that for Big Bang at some point we do some sort of regroup together, do an episode talking about the show,” Kaley said.

The Big Bang Theory’s final season aired on CBS and CBS All Access in the US. You can buy the complete boxset now on DVD and Blu-ray.
