The Boys star Antony Starr teases the craziest thing his Homelander character has ever done during Season 4 of the award-winning series.
While he’s done some outlandish things throughout his run on The Boys, Antony Starr hints Season 4 of the superhero TV series features the most “bizarre” act yet from the maniacal Seven leader.
Speaking with Variety, Starr claimed the series “somehow gets weirder and weirder and weirder,” in Season 4, adding, “There has to be a ceiling, but we can’t seem to find it.” He went on to recall a moment that encapsulated this feeling, explaining, “I was looking at the person I was opposite, and I said, ‘What are we doing? I can’t believe this! I could have done anything else with my life, but here I am doing this?’ It was truly the most bizarre thing I’ve ever done.”
Homelander’s Antics
In Season 3, Homelander pushed several boundaries, from throwing his son Ryan off a roof to get him to fly in Season 2 to milking a cow and then drinking the milk from a bucket in Season 3 to satisfy his fetish. Arguably his most outrageous and chilling moment of the series to date was during the Season 3 finale, “The Instant White-Hot Wild,” when he blasted off a man’s head in broad daylight while defending Ryan.
The Boys has garnered a strong audience since its 2019 premiere. The action-packed show sees the eponymous group take on superpowered individuals who abuse their powers in various ways. Whether tackling corruption, featuring critiques of Marvel’s heroes or its inclusion of gore and over-the-top references, the Emmy-nominated show continues to earn critical acclaim. Season 3 of the show was so well-received, it was more popular than any Disney+ MCU series in 2022.
What Audiences Can Expect From The Boys Season 4
Starr returns for Season 4 alongside Karl Urban, who reprises his role as The Boys’ leader William “Billy” Butcher, Jack Quaid (Hugh “Hughie” Campbell) and Erin Moriarty (Annie January/Starlight). Series creator Eric Kripke released some tidbits about Season 4 during the latter stages of filming, including the season finale’s title and some bloody cast photos.
With Season 4 on the horizon, Kripke has already seemingly confirmed there will be a Season 5 of The Boys, recently writing that “there will be more” of the hit show. Along with Kripke, the show’s VFX supervisor Stephan Fleet claimed Season 4 will raise the “disgusting” bar several notches as there are more stomach-churning moments than usual.
The Boys Season 1-3 is available for streaming on Prime Video. Season 4 does not yet have an announced release date.
