The Boys star Jack Quaid has denied he has been cast in the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot.
Rumours have circulated on social media today that Marvel has found half of its quartet, with Vanessa Kirby and Joseph Quinn reportedly being cast in the roles of Sue and Johnny Storm respectively.
Quaid, who plays Hughie Campbell on the Prime Video series, took to Twitter today to confirm that he hadn’t been cast as The Human Torch, before using his platform to raise awareness for the SAG-AFTRA strike.
“Hello everyone. Nope. Not playing Johnny Storm but hey I’m flattered,” he wrote. “Now that you’re here though, donate to the @sagaftra foundation if you can!”
Kirby, who recently appeared in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, has previously commented on the casting rumours, saying it would be an “honour” to play the Invisible Woman.
The Fantastic Four have been brought to the big screen before, with a 2005 live-action film being followed by a sequel, Rise of the Silver Surfer, in 2008. A 2015 reboot, which starred Miles Teller and Michael B Jordan, was panned by critics and flopped at the box office.
The next iteration is currently due to be released in cinemas on May 2 2025, with director Matt Shakman recently revealing that production will get underway in the near future.

“You know, I’m still finishing up Godzilla [and the Titans]. We’re in post on that, and have a few more months on that. [Then] Fantastic Four is pretty much my life until Valentine’s Day of 2025,” he said, before speaking about the casting process.
“All the casting stuff you see is just rumours. We are early in our process there. We have nothing to announce right now, and certainly, when we do we’ll let you know,” he added.
Fantastic Four is currently scheduled to be released on May 2 2025.
