John Wick spin-off Ballerina has added The Umbrella Academy star David Castañeda to its cast.
The upcoming movie, which was recently pushed back by a year, has also signed on Sex Education’s Sharon Duncan-Brewster, according to Deadline.
The movie is currently undergoing reshoots abroad, which comes after director Len Wiseman confirmed that they had completed filming last year.
John Wick boss Chad Stahelski is reported to now be working with Wiseman on additional action sequences, with Stahelski also signing a new deal with Lionsgate.
Ballerina follows Ana de Armas’s character Rooney as she seeks revenge on the people who murdered her family, and is set between the third and fourth John Wick movies.
Alongside de Armas and the new additions, the movie will also see the returns of John Wick regulars Anjelica Huston, Ian McShane and the late Lance Reddick, as well as newcomers Gabriel Byrne, Norman Reedus and Catalina Sandino Moreno.
The new announcements come after it was revealed last month that Ballerina would be delayed by a year to June 6, 2025, having originally been set for release on June 7.
Speaking previously about the movie, de Armas told Entertainment Tonight: “That is gonna be really another level. That movie was really demanding!
“You know, I love the John Wick universe and I loved working with Keanu again. It’s a great character and it’s a great story, it’s beautiful on screen. I’m very excited for that one.”
