In the new promo for the 10th season of The Walking Dead, Negan makes an prediction about what will happen when he stops talking.
In an exclusive new promo for the upcoming return of AMC’s long-running zombie apocalypse drama The Walking Dead, Negan has some threatening words for an unseen listener that promise a thrilling conclusion to the show’s extended tenth season.
“What can I say?” Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) asks as the spot begins, sitting in the dark before a blazing fireplace. “Here we are again.” After that meta commentary on the series’ return, he continues speaking in a voiceover as the footage rolls on. “Last time we did this, you said that I talk too much.”
Clips of other characters are shown as well, including longtime mainstays Darryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride). Some are gathering together, traveling or exploring new spaces, but it’s clear that they’ll once again be up against the dangers of their world, in the form of humans as well as walkers, and that they’re ready and armed for conflict. “Y’see, this time… you best hope I never stop talking,” Negan continues. “Because when I do, something very terrible is going to happen to you.”
AMC+ subscribers will be able to watch the first of the six new episodes on Feb. 21. The cable premiere will play one week later, on Feb. 28 at 9 p.m. EST. The remaining five episodes will then stream on AMC+ the Thursday before they debut on the cable network, starting March 4.
In these six new episodes, we find our survivors trying to pick themselves up by their bootstraps following the destruction the Whisperers left in their wake. The years of struggle weigh upon them as past traumas surface, exposing their more vulnerable sides. As they question the state of humanity, the state of their collective community, and the states of their minds, will they find the inner strength to persevere with their lives, friendships, and group intact?
The final, 24-episode season of The Walking Dead will premiere in 2021 and conclude in 2022. However, the franchise will live on beyond the original series, not only with spinoff Fear the Walking Dead but an untitled series following The Walking Dead’s Daryl and Carol, a comedy series based in the same universe, and films focused on the show’s original protagonist, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln).
The Walking Dead stars Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Josh McDermitt, Christian Serratos, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Seth Gilliam, Ross Marquand, Khary Payton and Cooper Andrews. Season 10 returns Sunday, Feb. 28 at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT on AMC. AMC+ subscribers can watch the premiere early, starting on Feb. 21.
