Wednesday star Emma Myers has been spotted in the first filming pictures for her new BBC series A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder.
The new murder drama was confirmed back in June, and will see the actress take on the lead role of Pip Fitz-Amobi, who tries to investigate the murder of a schoolgirl called Andie Bell.
The first filming pictures show Myers in character on set, walking down the street with some of her co-stars.
Based on the mystery thriller book series by Holly Jackson, the premise follows the death of Andie five years prior, with police and town folk believing that her boyfriend Sal Singh was the murderer.
“Amart and single-minded Pip Fitz-Amobi isn’t so sure and she’s determined to prove it,” the synopsis reveals. “And if Sal Singh isn’t a murderer and the real killer is still out there, how far will they go to keep Pip from the truth?”
Jackson previously said that she was “unbelievably excited” to have Myers play Pip, saying: “She is phenomenal and this role was truly always meant to be hers.”
Newcomer Zain Iqbal will take on the role of Ravi, the author further teasing: “I can’t wait for us all to be able to watch their scenes.
“I smile every time I see them together, because I know that we’ve pulled off the impossible, and Emma and Zain are the only two people I would trust to bring these characters to life. Everyone’s going to be just as thrilled as I am.”
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder has been adapted by Poppy Cogan, while Inside Man’s Dolly Wells is set to direct.
