As the Outlander seasons have progressed, the season count has reduced. How many episodes will Outlander Season 7 get? Here’s what we know.
Outlander Season 7 is definitely happening. That’s something we found out back in March, which certainly had us all excited.
By Season 7 being confirmed now, there’s hope that the next Droughtlander can be kept to a minimum. While the wait hasn’t been production’s or STARZ’s fault, it’s certainly good to know that both are trying to keep the next wait to a minimum.
That being said, fans want to know the number of episodes that will be in the season. Outlander Season 1 had 16 episodes split in two, with Seasons 2 to 4 having 13 episodes each. Then the episode count was dropped to 12 episodes for Seasons 5 and 6.
What’s the Outlander Season 7 episode count?
When TVLine reported the news that Outlander Season 7 was happening, it also reported the episode count. There will be 12 episodes to the season, matching Seasons 5 and 6.
It’s going to be interesting to see how the story is split across the 12 episodes. The season is set to be based on An Echo in the Bone, but we know that the writers are starting to combine storylines from other books. Some elements of A Breath of Snow and Ashes, the sixth Outlander book, were included in Season 5.
Will 12 episodes be enough to tell the story? Of course, there are going to be people you tell you definitely not. However, there are some storylines that simply aren’t needed, while others seem small but are essential for the next part of the story. I wouldn’t want to be those transforming the books to the show!
