Where Is Lady Gaga in Wednesday Season 2? Here’s When She Finally Appears

If you’ve already binged Wednesday season two, part one, you might be wondering: Where is Lady Gaga? Did all those viral fancams of Wednesday Addams set to “Bloody Mary” mean nothing? Will we never get to see Mother Monster strolling through Nevermore Academy, surrounded by monsters and outcasts? And is an on-screen dance to “Zombieboy” too much to hope for?

Breathe easy — Gaga’s absence in the first half is not a cruel Netflix stunt or some bizarre off-screen “Prank Day” tribute. She is in season two. In fact, she’s set to appear in part two, which drops in just a few weeks. Netflix confirmed her casting back in May, though many fans missed the announcement.

What role will Gaga play in Wednesday?
She’s stepping into the role of Rosaline Rotwood, described by Netflix as “a legendary Nevermore teacher who crosses paths with Wednesday.”

The official Wednesday social accounts teased the character with an ominous post:

“Cloaked in mystery with a reputation that precedes her. Our paths will surely cross. Welcome to mayhem @LadyGaga.”

Rosaline doesn’t appear to come from existing Addams Family lore, so fans will have to wait until the rest of the season airs to uncover her backstory.

Why isn’t she in part one?
Gaga’s casting was first reported in November 2024. By August that year, Jenna Ortega revealed during the Beetlejuice Beetlejuice press tour that four episodes of Wednesday season two had already been filmed — likely explaining why Gaga’s character only enters the story in the second half.

When does she show up?
Rosaline Rotwood makes her debut in season two, part two, premiering Wednesday, September 3 on Netflix.

What has Gaga said about joining the cast?
Not much — by design. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly in March 2025, Gaga teased:

“I want to keep it extra secret — but, I love Jenna, and I really had an amazing time!”

Ortega was equally careful:

“There’s definitely dances in the show,” she told Entertainment Tonight on March 13. “I’m not saying anything about her character though! Let her be incredible and amazing. She’s great in the show and I don’t think she’s what people expect her to be.”

She did, however, reveal the star treatment Gaga received on set:

“They had, like, rolled out this walkway for her to exit from the trailer to the tents. I went to my tent to hang out, and they replaced my dirty tent with, like, brand-new tents,” Ortega told Stephen Colbert. “I had a barber’s chair. They gave me fancy water. Everything. We really did it up for her guys. We really wanted to impress her.”

Is new music coming too?
Yes. To celebrate her Wednesday debut, Gaga will release a new song called “Dead Dance”, which will also feature in the show. According to Variety, she worked on the track with Andrew Watt and Cirkut, who also produced her latest album Mayhem. No release date has been announced yet.
