Outlander fans are in the midst of a long droughtlander until season 7 arrives, but we thought this was the perfect time to take a look back at how different some of the Starz stars look at the start of their acting careers.
From a very young-looking Sam Heughan to the cutest John Bell take a look at how these Outlander actors have aged over the years.
Sam Heughan
Sam’s first major role was in the indie short film Small Moments in 2001. The bizarre nine-minute flick was filmed in Glasgow and follows a series of actors in everyday ‘moments’.
The film is described on IMDB as: “Several precious minutes in the lives of a hand-full of unique individuals become intertwined.” A far cru fro, Highland warrior Jamie Fraser.
Caitriona Balfe
Caitriona’s first role was in J.J. Abrams Super 8. Balfe played Elizabeth Lamb in 2011.
The plot sees a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness a catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident. She is best known know as Claire in the fantasy drama.
Sophie Skelton
Skelton, who stars as Brianna Fraser, was first featured in DCI Banks which follows a tenacious and stubborn DCI who unravels disturbing murder mysteries aided by his young assistants.
She played Becca Smith in two episodes of the British crime drama.
John Bell
A firm fan-favourite as ‘Young Ian’, Bell first starred in another time-travelling programme, but this time it was Doctor Who.
He played Creet in the 2007 episode ‘Utopia’ after winning the role in a Blue Peter competition.
Lauren Lyle
In 2013, Lauren Lyle, who plays Marsali MacKimmie Fraser in Outlander, starred in a short film called WhosApp. At the time Lyle was just 19.
The short film was about a new app which allowed you to see the public social media profiles of who you take a photo.
Starz officially announced that Outlander had been renewed for a 7th season in March 2021, season seven will consist of 16 episodes.
