‘Outlander’ Season 8 Teaser Trailer Sets Up Epic End to Claire and Jamie’s Love Story

Claire and Jamie’s epic romance is poised to reach its thrilling conclusion in the eighth and final season of Outlander, according to a short teaser trailer released by Starz on Thursday.

“I remember when I saw you for the first time. I remember every moment. Every second. I’ll never forget,” says Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser in the teaser. A series of flashbacks with Caitriona Balfe’s Claire Randall recall some of the most memorable moments in their long-running love story.

Season 7 of Outlander, a mix of drama and romance based on Diana Gabaldon’s novels, followed the Frasers as they were swept up in the turmoil of the American Revolution. Its finale saw Jamie resign from his Continental Army commission and return to Fraser’s Ridge with Claire. But as the final season begins, the couple discovers that war has followed them home, now to a thriving settlement that grew in their absence.

According to the producers, the Frasers must confront what they are willing to sacrifice for their home—and what they might sacrifice to stay together. “With everything that’s about to come, I’m so scared to lose everything,” Claire tells Jamie as the battle for Fraser’s Ridge unfolds in the background of the teaser.

The eighth season, set to premiere in early 2026, will also explore how the Frasers strive to maintain unity against outside intruders, only to face family secrets that threaten to tear them apart from within.

As Outlander prepares to close the chapter on Claire and Jamie’s story, Starz has launched a prequel series, Outlander: Blood of My Blood. Its first season premiered in August and has already been renewed for a second. The prequel traces the love story of Jamie Fraser’s parents, Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy) and Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater), with Matthew B. Roberts returning as showrunner and Gabaldon serving as consulting producer.
