After six months of filming, Season 1 of Prime Video’s upcoming crime drama series, “Countdown,” has officially wrapped. Lead actor Jensen Ackles, known for his roles in “Supernatural” and “The Boys,” shared the news on his Instagram account, expressing gratitude for the experience and anticipation for a potential second season.
“Countdown” is developed by showrunner Derek Haas, co-creator of NBC’s “Chicago” franchise, and produced by Amazon MGM Studios. The series follows a high-stakes investigation by law enforcement racing against time to thwart a mass threat.

The collaboration between Ackles and Haas began after Ackles signed a deal with Amazon following his role in “The Boys.” During a fan event, Ackles shared that after meeting with various writers, he immediately clicked with Haas, leading to the development of “Countdown.”
While an official release date has yet to be announced, reports indicate that “Countdown” is scheduled to premiere on Prime Video in June 2025.
