Is Dexter: Original Sin a prequel?
Yes! The new spin-off series will take viewers back 15 years before the events of the cult-favourite series.
Set in 1991, the series will follow a young Dexter Morgan’s early days with the Miami Metro Police Department, with the forensic science student joining the crew as an intern.
Joining forces with his adopted father Harry, the duo kickstart Dexter’s life of crime, working together to find a way to track down and execute unprosecuted criminals without getting caught.
Who is the cast of Dexter: Original Sin?
While he may not be returning to the screen as Dexter, original series star Michael C. Hall is set to join Dexter: Original Sin as the narrator.
Leading the cast as young Dexter is Shadow and Bone star Patrick Gibson, who will star alongside Christian Slater and Molly Brown as Harry and Debra Morgan.
In addition to new faces, the prequel series will also feature some serious star power, with Patrick Dempsey joining the cast as Captain Aaron Spencer and Sarah Michelle Gellar as Tanya Martin.
The series will also feature an ensemble cast of talent, with Christina Milian, Reno Wilson, James Martinez, Alex Shimizu, and Victoria Martzloff joining the franchise.
