Fear the Walking Dead season 6 is hurtling closer towards its conclusion and star Lennie James has teased that fans have some incredible scenes to look forward to in the season finale.
There are nine episodes left to air in the AMC drama’s current season and the show’s cast and crew have been building up the excitement for the remaining episodes at this weekend’s virtual WonderCon.
Speaking during a virtual panel discussion hosted by SYFY WIRE, actor James, who has played Morgan Jones in the Walking Dead universe since 2010, said that we can expect a lot from the season finale.
“This finale has real big b***s,” he said. “It’s epic and it’s massive, and it is also intimate and it’s tiny – and it all happens over such a short space of time. The entire finale, it’s like it happens over a held breath.”
The panel kept their cards close to their chests when it came to plot details for the remainder of season six, but actress Jenna Elfman, who plays June Dorie, did tease that every character on the show will be heavily impacted by the events that unfold.
“The entire thing gets extremely potent for every character,” she said. “Every character is going to be hit by impacts of life that truly change them.
“That will launch us into season seven in a way that just catapults the story, because every character is going to be profoundly changed by significant experiences they are going to go through, through each of these episodes in the back half.”
One of the show’s executive producers, Andrew Chambliss, was also full of praise for the upcoming episodes, calling them “some of the best we’ve produced”.
“6B was really about turning the screws on everyone as much as we could,” he said. “The end of this season is gonna have far-reaching changes… It’s really gonna change what this show is, going forward into season seven.”
A recent trailer for the second half of season six promises a lot of thrills coming our way, including a swarm of walkers descending on a barricade and Morgan and his group defending their base at the dam.
Fear the Walking Dead airs on AMC in the US, and on AMC UK in the UK.
