Before he was Superman, Henry Cavill was the first Duke of Suffolk.
The Superman actor had his breakout role in Showtime period drama The Tudors and ,if you haven’t got round to watching it yet, time is running out.
All four seasons of the series are currently available to stream on Prime Video but they’ll be leaving in just a few weeks, having been moved to the platform’s ‘leaving in 30 days’ list.
Cavill was just 24 when he took on the role of Charles Brandon, 1st Duke of Suffolk, and it would be another three years after the show ended before he would don Superman’s cape in Man of Steel.
Alongside Cavill, The Tudors features an all-star cast led by Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Henry VIII and Game of Thrones’ Natalie Dormer as Anne Boleyn.
Joely Richardson, Peter O’Toole, Joss Stone, Sam Neill and Once Upon a Time’s Sarah Bolger also star.
Airing from 2007 to 2010, The Tudors was nominated for numerous awards including a Golden Globe for Best Drama Series.
It currently holds and 8.1 rating on IMDB, with one user describing it as “completely enthralling” and another saying it is “unparalled and thoroughly mesmerising.”
Meanwhile, Cavill is set to star in the upcoming Highlander reboot, which has been in the works for over a decade.
Cavill is set to play Connor MacLeod, an immortal Scottish swordsman who must battle other immortals to obtain a coveted power.
