So Take A Look At The Interesting Supernatural Audition Stories From The Cast Members

ALAINA HUFFMAN

Alaina Huffman played the role of the Knight of Hell Abaddon and made her debut in Season 8 of the show. Her character was important because it helped in progressing the story as Dean acquired the Mark of Cain to put an end to the Knight of Hell. However, there’s an interesting story behind the auditioning process of the actress. The actress revealed that when she got the email for the audition. Her first reaction was “Is that Show Still On?” Because she was curious if she demographically fit for the show then why didn’t she read for the show. As there have been eight seasons of a CW show and she didn’t audition anytime before then. Her audition involve being her character being shot, stabbed, and its head of the character getting chopped off, all in one. It was ridiculous, but she was like ‘Whatever’. She wanted to have fun and ended up getting the role.

MISHA COLLINS

Misha came in and auditioned for Eric Kripke. He revealed in an interview that he originally auditioned for the role of a demon. Misha did a tremendous job for the demon as he came all prepared. But then he was told that it’s actually the role of an angel. They wanted to keep it secret and not let anybody know about the existence of the angels on the show. So he was asked to do it again, but this time do it like an angel. The actor’s all preparation flew out of the window and he said the words with a blank expression. Luckily, that’s exactly what they were looking for and he ended up with the part.

OSRIC CHAU

Osric Chau got a Supernatural audition call on the day when he was supposed to leave to go to LA for an audition for a JJ Abrams project. He was a struggling actor who was working day to day, and therefore he decided to change his flight to make it to the audition. The actor ended up spending nearly $800 dollars that week just to make it to both the auditions. Luckily, he ended up getting both the roles. Due to the conflict in the schedules, he had to choose one. After careful thinking between being a regular on a show and a guest role on Supernatural where his character might get written off after a couple of episodes. He turned down Supernatural, but as fate would have it, he ended up appearing on Supernatural which earned him global fame whereas the JJ Abrams project never materialized beyond the pilot.

KIM RHODES

She is best known for her work on the Disney’s hit ‘The Suite Life of Zack & Cody’, but Supernatural fandom knows her as Sheriff Jody Mills. Kim Rhodes shared the story of about her audition process was pretty intense. The audition process involved the scene where Jody’s zombie son has returned and is consuming her husband. There were numerous actresses who have come to audition for the role. At that time the writers didn’t have a specific idea for the character as what they want Jody Mills to look like and therefore the actresses who came for the role were pretty diverse. Kim revealed about how after learning the scene, other actresses were surprised and didn’t give the vibe that they could go further with the scene. Whereas Kim knew what she had to do and fully committed to the situation given to her. Eventually, through her sheer performance, she ended up getting the part.

JARED PADALECKI

Jared Padalecki talked about his experiences when he was approached with the idea of playing a role on the Supernatural. It was the time Charmed, Buffy, and Angel were on. Initially, Jared felt that it wasn’t the show that he wanted to do in his career at that point of time as he was looking for something more real and gritty. He was then told that this show wouldn’t be like the ones with the goofy aspects of the science fiction, it would be gritty like the X-Files which then attracted the attention of the actor. As he read about the show further, he became convinced that it’s something refreshing and felt like going after it.

As the audition process can be pretty anxiety inducing and Jared walked into the audition expecting all the familiar faces showing up there to bag the role. Every person who he has seen on the TV show would be auditioning for the pilot episode. But he found only one person showing up for the audition process, it was Jensen Ackles. Jensen introduced himself to Jared, telling him that he has worked on Days of our Lives and Smallville. Soon their conversation started flowing as they found similarities such as both are from Texas, both love Cowboys, and enjoy the Country Music. Soon they would find themselves reading for the first time ever in front of the 30 executives and Network people. What happened next is history as these two would go on to become global stars due to their performances on Supernatural.
