It appears that Jensen Ackles could be returning to The Boys universe.
The actor, who starred as Solider Boy in the third season of the Prime Video superhero series, has teased that he might reappear in the upcoming spin-off series Gen V.
On the Awards Radar podcast, when asked about the rumours that his character would appear in the new show, Ackles replied: “There’s some things out there.
“I’m not allowed to give anything out, but we’ll just say that Soldier Boy is not dead. Thank God.”
It comes after Soldier Boy caused havoc in the season 3 finale, as he wanted revenge on Homelander before he was put into a deep sleep and kept stored in a machine.
If Ackles’ return is on the horizon, then he may also make an appearance in the fourth season of the main show for an explosive reunion with his superpowered frenemies.
Season four is also welcoming another former Supernatural star, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who is reuniting with show creator Eric Kripke.
Talks over Morgan joining the show have been happening for multiple years, with Kripke saying back in 2020: “I absolutely have [had those talks]. There’s one role we’re already talking about.”
Meanwhile, Erin Moriarity, who plays Starlight, recently teased that the fourth season will “go a little bit deeper with each character”.
“The characters… that you thought would be villains, you start to learn a little bit more about them that perhaps makes you feel, not that they’re good guys, but that there are always gonna be details that you can never anticipate, that prevent you from putting that character in a box,” she explained.
The Boys seasons 1-3 are streaming on Prime Video. Season 4 is in production.
