After spending the first five months of 2019 sobbing over the end of The Big Bang Theory, Kaley Cuoco is feeling great heading into October when production for the sitcom would traditionally be in full swing.
Before the TBBT finale aired in May, Kaley’s Instagram was mainly packed with pictures of herself sobbing over table-reads and sharing emotional behind-the-scenes photos, which she’s actually compiled into a mega book for all her cast mates as a late present. A really late present.
Now, she’s in a much better place, which is no wonder when she’s got a pile of epic roles to throw herself into. Her next is for The Flight Attendant, based on the Chris Bohjalian novel – which she turned into a TV adaption FYI – and starts filming in New York over the coming weeks.
‘I feel good because, I’m knee-deep in The Flight Attendant, which I think is smart. I didn’t have time to think about it,’ she told Entertainment Tonight.
Kaley’s playing Cassandra ‘Cassie’ Brown, who wakes up in a Dubai hotel room next to a dead body and has absolutely no recollection how it got there. Rather than calling the police, she joins her fellow flight attendants to board a plane home plagued with fear that she may be behind a murder.
It’s quite the move from Penny Holfstader.
‘I found this book two-and-a-half years ago, and I wanted to make it, and I thought the material was great. I had an instinct about it,’ she continued.
‘I [also] think it’s really important to start putting our own stamps on things, especially as women, and having our own voice. And I like being the boss. That’s it. That’s the bottom line.’
The Flight Attendant is expected to air on HBO Max in 2020.
